Aspley Heath Wood is one of my favourtie places to walk. To me it’s magical and perfect.
You’re surrounded by tall trees, wooden dens and not much else.
There are so many routes you can take and don’t have to venture far to have an adventure with your little one. My girls and their pals love finding sticks, puddles, wooden dens and climbing through the overgrowth.
There’s no cafe, no toilets and no facilities but it's still an amazing place to visit. Parking is free.
The actual wood is sandy so its the perfect place to explore in winter and summer. Even the puddles aren't going to get you muddy, dirty yes and wet but not muddy like your usual wood.
I have taken a buggy but in some of the more sandy areas, you may struggle. We took bikes today which was a great idea. There are also lots of bike trails for adults and adventurers, I think I have read that you need a permit so do research prior.
The wood is located within Woburn Sands, Woburn and Aspley Guise however the postcode and parking location I’m going to suggest is in Woburn Sands.
MK17 8TS drive to the top of this hill on Church Road and you’ll see a car park within the wood.
