Rookery Open Farm

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

Rookery Open Farm is a brilliant all-rounder, I have visited a few farms and I feel this is the best for toddlers as well as older children.

There is so much to do and lots of lovely animals such as Goats, Alpacas, Cows, Sheep, Rabbits and Pigs.  You can take your own picnic and eat it in the warmth of their barn and soft play area rather than being stuck on a soggy picnic table out in the cold. They provide high-chairs and there are plenty of tables to eat around, they sell limited food and drinks but so very welcome to take your own, please note though this is a cash only venue.

The entry is cheaper than most attractions too, under 2s go free, children £6.50 and adults £7. We visited last year during lambing season and saw two lambs being born which is pretty incredible so make sure to visit during this time.

I’ve personally never used the soft play at this farm but there are two sections, one for toddlers and the other for older more boisterous children which looks pretty exciting.

Not only are there animals here but they have so many extra activities such as climbing frames, tunnels, sand pits, mini diggers, ride on cars and tractors to play on and even a pretend cow to milk. I think the part which impresses me the most is the fact that they have options for both toddlers and older children often separating the two, for example, they have two bouncy castles suitable for both ages, two climbing frames and two ride on car sections.

So to finalise I would highly recommend gathering all your pals and having a good old day at the farm making memories and chasing your toddlers around because that’s what days off are made for.
